Over the shoulder MS Union infantryman loading & firing musket from behind log, shooting & killing charging Confederate rebel. MS Union soldier crouched behind log, turning & shooting a Confederate rebel soldiers charging from behind him. LS eleven or so Confederate soldiers (battle line) emerging from trees, firing rifles while charging through barren field; very fake artillery fire explodes all around them, wafts of smoke rising, some soldiers falling; surviving soldiers rush by camera; smoke clears form battlefield, one "dead soldier" moving his hands. TLS Union position, several Yankees behind breastworks, U.S. flag (American flag) flying in FG. LSs rebels soldiers charging through field, from woods, stopping to fire guns at Yankees, reloading, resuming forward charge; some shots with fake artillery explosions. MSs Union soldiers standing in field, attending to muskets. Nice MS Rebel charging Yankee, Yankee knocking Reb down with rifle butt, then sticking (stabbing) him with bayonet. MS overly dramatic death of Yankee standing behind log, a fake artillery shell landing beside him in a cloud of smoke (hit by shell). TLS Rebels running through woods, one being hit by fire, an artillery explosion behind him seconds later. Panning LS field lined by trees; nice ground explosion (puff of smoke, grass being shuttled upward).

MS Union artillery unit loading cannon. MS Yankee running from woods getting shot in the back, falling down. MS Rebel soldier holding bloody exploding face after being hit (squib pack held on cheek-- still rather gross effect; violence of war). TLS Yankee shoots Rebel from behind log. TLS Rebel sniper (sharpshooter) sitting in tree, firing. MS Yankee soldier crouched behind log getting shot in the leg; bloodless wound; other Yankee behind breastwork takes aim & shoots Rebel sniper in tree. TLS sniper falling from tree after being shot. MSs Yankee sneaking up on camera (Rebel), swinging rifle & battering unwary young Rebel. TLS/MSs Rebel creeping through field, shooting Yankee soldier who slumps to the ground, dead. MS three Confederate soldiers running out of woods and firing rifles; third one gets hit in the head, goes down.

MS three Yankee soldier firring behind breastwork, then rushing off-screen. Sideview MS Rebel loading muske, firing. TLS four Rebs running from woods, firing guns; two are wounded, fall to ground. MSs Yankees firing. Great head-on TLS Rebels charging toward camera, lead man waving sabre. CUs tired Yankees wiping sweat from brow.
