If you're a product of the sober American public school system, then you know exactly what to expect. But note the strange civil rights parallels one can easily infer from the incessant promulgation of "white bread." Far healthier & nutritious & satisfying than any dark bread. Whitewashing America's dinner table. Scratchy. Great soundtrack, too-- an exuberant, triumphant newsreel-like background swagger.

Bower, Director of Health Education for the American Medical Association, seated at desk, plugging the health benefits of white bread; the cold, mundane delivery here is a classic educational film aesthetic. MCU shiny kitchen toaster, stack of white bread, butter, jelly, orange juice, over easy eggs on table; part of your nutritious breakfast, this shot screams; toast pops out of toaster.
