"A celebration in film of the International Children's Festival, held at International Young Pioneer Camp Artek, on the Black Sea, in the summer of 1977. Children from 103 of the world's countries got together to share their cultures and aspirations. The festival's theme, 'may there always be sunshine' resonated in the addresses, songs, and dances of the festival opening in the Kremlin Palace of Congresses in Moscow, and throughout activities at Artek itself. A great lesson in cooperation and friendship the children made the world over into what it should be, for the two weeks of the festival. Together they created handicrafts and paintings, studies, and did modest work. Money from the sale of the crafts was contributed to the cause of world peace and the alleviation of hunger. At Artek, we sense the warm solidarity which existed between the various political, philosophical, and religious groups..."
